One of Malibu's most popular, upscale oceanside dining experiences. Enjoy delicious dishes of the highest quality, and maybe see a celebrity or two as well.

Pictured above is the Yellowtail Sashimi Jalapeño, one of my personal all-time favorite dishes. The yuzu sauce gives the light fish a citrus flavor, and the jalapeño gives each bite a nice heat to top it off. I order this dish every time I dine at Nobu, and have even ordered it as a cut roll on occasion. The Yellowtail Sashimi Jalapeño is a must-order for anyone new to Nobu.

Cold Dishes

The Nobu Menu is organized into hot and cold dishes, with the cold dishes always served first. My favorite cold dishes, in order of appearance below, are the Spicy Miso Chips, Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, and Albacore with Meyer Lemon.

Without a doubt, each of these dishes, along with the Yellowtail Sashimi Jalapeño above, amount to my top 4 sushi dishes of all time. I also think it is worth mentioning that I was sitting next to David Beckham while eating the Spicy Miso Chips pictured here.

Hot Dishes and Desserts

Nobu's Hot Dishes include a wide variety of plates, ranging from land to sea. Some Roub family favorites are the Dover Sole with Crispy Spinach, Black Cod with Miso, Rock Shrimp Tempura with Creamy Spicy Sauce, Eggplant Spicy Miso, Prime Filet "Toban" Yaki, and the Rosemary Panko Crusted New Zealand Lamb Chop (pictured below). The best desserts on the menu are undoubtedly the Hazelnut Cookie and the Bento Box (both pictured below).

$$$

While Nobu is indeed notoriously expensive, I truly do believe that the cost can be justified by the quality, flavor, uniqueness, and presentation of the food, as well as the unbeatable atmosphere. The accompaniment of ocean waves and upbeat music while dining in this classy restaurant adds to the incredible experience you will have at Nobu.
