Being stuck in quarantine is not fun, but I can guarantee that having this take-out meal will make it a whole lot better :)

Pictured above are the beautiful, neat, and wonderfully aesthetic to-go boxes from Sugarfish in Calabasas. There are 4 types of boxes, differing by amount of food: the Trust Me Lite, Trust Me, Trust Me Nozawa, and Don't Think Just Eat. For this family take-out night, in celebration of my commitment to the University of Michigan and the end of my brother's two-week self-quarantine, we had 2 regular Trust Me orders and 2 Nozawa orders.

The to-go box aims to mimic the in-house dining experience with complete directions on how to eat the different types of fish. It comes with ponzu sauce, soy sauce, scallions, wasabi, ginger, and a lemon slice.

The directions tell you to begin with the delicious, perfectly fresh tuna sashimi with ponzu sauce and scallions. Next, dive into the sushi, which consisted of albacore (to be eaten with scallions and ponzu), salmon (with soy sauce), yellowtail (top with lemon juice and dip in soy sauce), NZ Sea Bream (with soy sauce), and scallops (with soy sauce). Finally, the tuna and crab cut rolls and edamame are left. Every single bite of this sushi was almost too good to be true. So fresh, tasty, and quite honestly beautiful. I only wish I could eat this every day!

$$$

This meal is definitely on the expensive side, with the Trust Me costing $33 and the Nozawa costing $38, but I have to admit that the flavors, the quality of the fish, the presentation, and the replicated restaurant experience make indulging in Sugarfish for one night incredibly worth it. Do yourself a favor and splurge a little bit. Take a break from your other boring quarantine meals. After just one bite, you will know you made a fabulous choice.
